Richa Kedia led this wonderful workshop on Sunday, 26th January

Richa Kedia is an artist with a keen eye for interconnections between nature and art. Her experience spans various illustration projects for organizations such as WWF India, TRAFFIC, Andhra Pradesh & Orissa Forest Departments, AIIMS, Wellcome Trust, and George Institute of Global Health. Richa shares her practice and techniques of using art to observe, record, and deeply engage with nature during the sessions.

The participants arrived by 08:45 am at the meeting point which was Nehar Sahibi Farm, Najafgarh. The participants gathered at the farm and soaked some sun rays before beginning the workshop. Ms. Richa gave a brief outline on how the workshop has been structured.

The workshop began with a farm tour led by Mr. Alok Kumar. He gave the participants a detailed walk of the farm. Participants were introduced with the idea of the Nehar Sahibi. They experienced everything being done at the farm. Participants had to draw inspiration from nature and draw later, which was the basic idea of the workshop.

Art & Nature An outdoor painting workshop

The participants along with Richa ji sat down to paint a bamboo landscape. They used watercolor to draw nature-inspired live paintings. Participants were being guided by Richa ji continuously. She shared the intricate details and techniques of live painting. She also shared her experience in art. People devour delicious farm-to-table breakfast in midway of their painting.  And later gave final strokes to their bamboo paintings. Photos clicked, breakfast distributed and all left with a big smile on their faces as we ended the walk.
